- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 lamb shanks
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon rosemary
- 1⁄8 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1 small garlic cloves, crushed or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 small onions
- 4 -5 small carrots, cut into halves
- 2 medium potatoes, pared and cut into halves
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen Italian cut green beans, broken apart
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
directions
- Heat oil in Dutch oven; brown meat.
- Add water, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, the rosemary leaves, pepper, garlic and bay leaf.
- Cover tightly and simmer on range or in 350 degree oven 1 hour. (Add small amount of water if necessary.).
- Add vegetables and 1/2 teasopon salt; cook until meat and vegetables are tender, 40 to 60 minutes.
