This bread is totally braidable. This is coming from someone who tried braiding a bread for the first time with this recipe. :) I too didn't add any food colouring or poppy seeds, and it still turned out great. I just brushed the top with the egg mixture as directed to give it a nice golden glossy shine to the top of the bread. Do make sure that you don't allow the egg mixture to touch the side of the pan, cos it will cause it to stick. Extremely tasty bread, a little heavy, which is good.. kept me going for quite a while without my tum tum rumbling. Do watch your mixer when the dough is being mixed up, cos my mixer did move a little during this process. :)
this made a beautiful bread to was soft i did not add the food coloring or any of the seeds i just bruhed the top with eggyolk and milk turned out great
An excellent recipe for egg twist bread. The loaves are very tasty all by themselves - no need for toppings. The directions don't mention the yeast, so I added it to the sugar and water before mixing into the flour.
Absolutely deeelicious!! I love this dough ... It's so pliable and easy to work with. Turned out 2 beautiful, golden, braided (well, kinda! I'm not much of a "braider"!)loaves. Smeared each one with egg/water mixture, and when they came out of the oven, I slathered butter all over. Lovely texture, nice and soft, and so, so tasty. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe, R ... Be my pleasure to make it again! Laudee (photo will be posted soon)
