I made this pie using the originally called for brandy, and although we thought it was very good, it did have a little bit of an alcohol taste to it. Overall good though, I may have to try again with a high quality bourbon instead!
This pie was delicious. I omitted to fresh grated ginger. I didn't have any. I used bourbon instead of brandy. Yummy. Thanks P4 for sharing.
Hakala's are a bourbon family, so we knew this would be a hit before we started. Troy made the recipe using Mean Chef's crust #26205. I managed some very artful leaves and decorative rim -- picture to come, one of these days. Very Good, and lovely Thanksgiving presentation.
