Delicious! I'm eating it right now with broccoli and carrots, over jasmine rice, and it is awesome. Definitely adding this to my regular repertoire.
First reaction, YUM!!! I used orange juice instead of apple, rice vinegar instead of cider vinegar. Great taste! By the way, if you find that your dish is too watery you can thicken it with cornstarch. I used an egg instead. Stir the egg, and slowly pour into the pan. Turn off heat once the sauce thicken. Enjoy!
So excellent! Have made this several times and my family (even my picky son) eats it right up!
Magical! Taste just like the bourbon chicken from restaurants and fairs. Love the fact that it doesn't have to have real bourbon. Being a 20 year old wife I can't run to the liquor store, at least not for another year...and that will ONLY be for cooking. This recipe is a keeper. I will say that the sauce does not stick to the chicken at all even when I tried the cornstarch trick but I like it better that way because it goes into the rice. And the chicken is flavored so well by the sauce it really doesn't bother me. Give this a shot, I promise you wont be dissapointed. We also steamed some broccoli with it and that made it even better. After steamed, just throw it in the sauce right before you serve and mix in. Yum yum!
What more can be said...this is excellent. You must try it. Thanks for the recipe.
My daughter fixed this one night and it was just wonderful!! I was surprised, though, that there was no bourbon in it. I suppose they don't use bourbon in the food court either, though... We will use this recipe again and my daughter is planning to use it for a get-together next weekend.
FABULOUS recipe! Incredibly simple preparation and requires ingredients which I always have on hand. Best of all, my children and husband absolutely devoured it begged for me to serve it again soon!! Many thanks for sharing this recipe!
Really good! I typically don't like cooking with ketchup too much, since it can make things too sweet. I decided to try this one though and got rave reviews. Very simple, and it is definitely a crowd pleaser. Thanks for posting!
I made this with both lamb and fish separately and they both ended up with a very different flavor...Both excellent!!! This is a keeper. My wife loved every bite.
