I would say this is a pretty solid recipe for being quick and easy. I did reduce the sugar called for and added the cornstarch slurry and am glad I made both of these changes. It was a bit salty, even though I used reduced sodium soy sauce so I'm going to look for a way to substitute out the soy sauce or reduce the amount used.

Excellent recipe! I screwed mine up and forgot the brown sugar so I will be making this again to do it properly. It was still delicious without the brown sugar but it was very liquidy, I suspect that would help thicken it a litte. I also chopped up some sweet red peppers and put those into the mix for a little vegetable, it went very well together.

The sauce is very good. I doubled the recipe for sauce and used a three pound bag of chicken. I had trouble getting the chicken browned. I think I tried to do too much at once.

Easy and delicious recipe. I doubled the sauce and used the extra to sauteed fresh veggies - carrots, onion, mushrooms, broccoli and some water chestnuts. Then I added the chicken back in and served over brown rice. Everyone loved it!

This was absolutely delicious!. I used boneless skinless thighs which were so tender they melted in your mouth. I definitely would cut down the cooking time if using breast meat. I also doubled the sauce as that is one of my favorite parts! Thanks for a great recipe.

WOW! This is a great recipe, so easy and I always have the ingredients on hand. I doubled the sauce because we like things "saucy". I used very little of the crushed red pepper called for, and it was too spicy for me, I added more apple juice to tone down the heat and thickened it with a little cornstarch. I served it over Korean sweet rice. The leftovers were great too. This will be in the regular rotation now.

Just gotta add to the wonderful reviews for this recipe. I've been wanting to make bourbon chicken for a long time, and this recipe was just simply amazing. The only change I made was to add a little less red pepper flakes than called for (I only had a small packet from a pizza place available and that was definitely plenty for my family's tastes). It's so funny how such varied ingredients can come together to create something so outstanding. I made it for dinner last night, we enjoyed the leftovers today, and I'm already looking forward to making it again in the near future. Thank you SO much for posting!!!!

This is an excellent sauce on this dish. It's spicy, but that's the way I like it. The one thing I would do different is add a little cornstarch to the sauce so it thickens and glazes the chicken. The next time I make it, I will also add some broccoli at the end. Boneless chicken thighs would also work well if that's what you have on hand.
