My grandmother collected recipes from around the world in a time when international cuisine was not very fashionable. This dish is very Czech.
- 2 lbs potatoes
- 3⁄4 lb sauerkraut, well drained
- 1 egg
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Peel and grate raw potatoes. Squeeze dry.
- Add other ingredients and mix well.
- Make round balls about 1 inch in diameter and cook 15 min in boiling salted water.
- Serve with hot meats and more sauerkraut.
