This bolognese sauce is one of the best I made. I can't believe no one has reviewed it yet. Me and DH loved it so much. I'll have to do another batch soon and will probably double the recipe. I used a bag of baby carrots that I chopped. For the wine I used merlot. Thanks elisabeth :) Made for Bargain Basement tag game
- 29.58 ml olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 celery, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500 g beef mince
- 236.59 ml beef stock
- 850 g chopped tomatoes
- 354.88 ml red wine

- heat the olive oil in a large heavybased pan. add the onion,carrot and celery and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until softened.add the garlicand cook for 1 minute.
- add the mince and cook until well browned. add the stock ,tomatoes wine and sugar.
- bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. season to taste with salt and pepper. serve with spaghetti.
