Made it as per directions. A Little Bland. Thanks for the great recipe......
I have been wondering what all the fuss was about (you hear about it on all the cooking shows these days), but we tried this and the boiled water was FANTASTIC! A++! Tip: for a nice treat on a summer day, try it refrigerated. Pour over a glass full of ice... the kids love it! Thanks for sharing your family recipe!
Interesting, to say the least. Wasn't horrible, but is a bit better if you add some seasoning... I recommend salt, pepper, and a dash of garlic. To really bump up the texture, add some spaghetti noodles. Let the water and noodles boil for an additional 10 minutes (that's jusy enough time for the flavors to REALLY mesh!), then drain and serve with a meat and tomato sauce. FABULOUS!
I made this exactly as written except I added some boullion, diced chicken, carrots, celery, onion, egg noodles, parsley and salt and pepper. It was really good ;>) What a great memory of your brother !
ohhh, that's how you boil water. I didn't know how so I'v just been letting the hot water faucet run until it was too hot to touch. Your way will save me a lot of money and time, thanks a million.
I used this recipe: Ice Cubes and tap water. Had a bit of trouble figuring out whether my pan was big enough so I just used the biggest pan I own, my roasting pan! I was then forced to remove all my newspapers from the top of the stove because I needed two burners to get the roasting pan hot. When I reached step #8 I put the stack of newspapers back and, what a surprise, they caught fire! Good thing I had boiling water to put the fire out! :)
Great recipe - A family favorite - we have it a couple times a week. The kids love it when I add whole eggs!
Well I tried this and it was awesome!! I even thought about adding some eggs. I did and it cooked the eggs perfect in about 10 min. Ty so much.. I have been trying to find a way to boil eggs...the oven and toaster and microwave don't work out too well.
END result is HOT! Be sure the pan you use has a handle.
Too watery. ;-)
