Blueberries sweetened with maple syrup!! Serve over Lemon Waffles (#78221), pancakes or pound cake!!

Outstanding!I didn't have any Blueberries but I did have dried Cherries and I was out of Lemons so I used Key Lime juice. I served the sauce over French Vanilla Ice Cream. It was wonderful. I look forward to making it with the proper ingredients. If it's this good made wrong it must be Heaven when made right! THANX!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 cups wild blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 13 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh purple basil (optional)


  1. Combine blueberries, maple syrup and lemon juice in a medium saucepan and cook gently over low heat, mashing blueberries slightly, until reduced and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Stir in basil.
  4. Serve warm.
