Blueberry Drop Biscuits

"This is a neat recipe for young cooks just starting out. Not too many steps and not too difficult. My dear friend has a 10 yr. old son, who's passion is to become a chef. I have him over, he picks a recipe, and I help him. By the way, the recipe's good also!"

  1. Good simple biscuits, I added a little sugar and made half with blueberries and half without. I would also say the yield is off, I made a double batch and average size biscuits (at least in my opinion) and only got 14.

  2. So easy, my 7-year-old did most of it by herself. We modified it slightly using gluten-free flour and a bit of honey and had good results. We will be using this recipe again! Thanks!

  3. The biscuits had a good texture but I might try rolling them next time. The blueberries didn't really seem to belong maybe a little sugar would be good. I halved the recipe and only got 2 very large biscuits so I can't imagine getting 12 unless they were tiny.

  4. i left out the berries, used light margrine and skim milk and used these for biscuits and gravy, excellent and way more healthy than the refridgerated biscuits in the store.

  5. This was pretty good using soymilk and vegan butter (earthbalance). Next time I will definitely add some sugar or other sweetener as the blueberries didn't quite make it sweet enough. Also, I definitely did not get 12 biscuits out this recipe - it only made 4 good sized biscuits for us. Thanks for posting. It came together and cooked in no time at all.

I would like to welcome you to my recipes. I have been with Food.com since 10/05. My beloved husband, Tom, passed away 3 years ago. My world stopped. It's taken me all this time to find my way back to life without him. I have been so blessed to have found my second, once in a lifetime. I've met an amazing man who is so good to me. We moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to Bullhead City, Az. in February, and we love it here. I have worked at Bally's and Paris hotel.casinos, in Las Vegas. I have seen some very famous entertainers, including Liza Minnelli, Penn and Teller, Ray Liotta, Dr. J (Julius Erving), Frank Sinatra and his wife Barbara Marx. and many, many more. Cooking is my passion, and I am slowly, but surely beginning to venture into the world of baking. To me, cooking is so much easier because baking is so much more exact. I love to make Italian and Mexican food the best, followed by Chinese and last, but by far the least, good old American food! How can you beat chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy?? I love to find several recipes and put my own spin on them and create a new recipe.
