Tart and smooth and guaranteed to cool you right down! from the blueberry association!
- 2 cups fresh blueberries or 2 cups slightly thawed frozen blueberries
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt or 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1⁄2 cup skim milk
- 3⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
- In food processor or blender, add all ingredients.
- Whirl until smooth.
- Serve in frosty glasses on a hot summery day.
Wonderful. Nothing like a frosty fruit drink to cool you down. This one was superb. I added a couple of packets of Equal to sweeten up a bit but the fruit flavor with the frozen yogurt was yummy. Thanks s'kat ;)
Oops - noone in my family cared for this one - not even DH! If I were to try it again, I'd add 2 t. vanilla flavoring and 3-4 T. sugar or the equivalent, to help sweeten it up. Sounded great -but was disappointing here -and 90% got poured down the drain. :( Hopefully better luck by adding some sweetener & vanilla if we do try this one again....a nice idea!
