Heavenly!! Just like you get in a restaurant, but better. Very thick at first, thins out as it sits in fridge. Made it to go with baked chicken wings recipe from this site, both recipes were just fantastic!
This turned out fantastic. I did use Roquefort (just preference) thinned it out with some fat free half and half. I also left out the dry mustard no reason except that I forgot it. Served this with wedge salads for dinner with bacon, onions and tomatoes. Yummy! Hubby says this is his new favorite dressing. Absolutely a new staple at our house!
This is the best Bleu Cheese dressing I have ever had! I have been making my own salad dressings for a while and was looking for a Bleu Cheese that didn't taste predominantly of mayo and this one is it. Thanks so much for posting.
boy, I'm never buying the jarred stuff again. I do prefer mine a bit thicker, i added a inch of xanthan gum to thicken it up a bit.
LikeItLoveIt - This dressing is absolutely great! I had no sour cream, so I added buttermilk, instead. Fresh garlic and Dijon mustard are always in my kitchen, so they were also used.
Excellent dressing. Try adding a little lemon juice.
I used Roquefort which is very strong and rather salty. Very good. I used it for a potato salad with onions. Also delicious with tomatoes and boiled eggs. I made my own very thick mayonnaise which has of course lemon in it. I see that some people use it for chicken. I'm just a beginner with this dressing - never heard of it before. Anyway I liked it very much.
Five stars all the way! Great recipe, love it! Did not change a thing, have had it with wings and on salads - will be my go-to recipe from now on.
Delicious dressing! I'm pretty picky about my blue cheese dressing. I hate it when all I can taste is mayo. This dressing had a nice bright flavor. I do think the quality of blue cheese used makes a big difference in how flavorful the dressing will be. I added some dried minced onion and extra pepper. Thanks for posting the recipe.
My husband adores blue cheese dressing and I have always resisted because of the price of the cheese. On our last trip to Costco, I found a good sized package (not Roquefort) for around $6. I made this dressing for him and he is in love with it! Mine didn't thin out, so maybe I got a little crazy with my ingredient amounts (I was slamming around in a big hurry). Thank you so much for the wonderful recipe! It's a keeper--so simple and so good!
