Jerry Baker's books have the most amazing household tips and helpful hints. Here's another good one! If you can't get to a blood stain right away and it's had a chance to make itself at home, hydrogen peroxide may not do the trick. Try this instead:


  1. Add tenderizer and water together to form a paste.
  2. Apply paste to the stain, and scrub gently.
  3. The stain should begin to dissolve immediately.

Used this paste on a favorite teeshirt that I was about to throw in the ragbag. Although there's still a faint stain... TA DA!! It's actually wearable again! (I used Adolph's) Made for My 3 Chefs.
