Fabulous! I followed this recipe exactly and my dinner guests and family loved it. It was easy to make, beautifully presented and so flavourful. We had corn chowder with whole wheat rolls, followed by tourtiere turnovers with pork gravy and roasted veggies, had a break then devoured this lovely dense snowball. I melted some bittersweet chocolate with a little unsalted butter and a few grains of coffee then dipped 16 fresh cherries to decorate the cake. The flavour had Wow factor! Our 9 guests were from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario and South Africa. They all rated it 5 stars. Thanks.

thanks MarieAlice for posting the only boule de neige recipe on this site (that I could find)! I was always curious about it. This recipe was really clear and easy to follow. Unfortunately, my family wasn't crazy about it. Not having any experience with other boule de neiges to compare to, I can't say how this one measures up, but it was very rich and dense and my family didn't go for the bits of cherry inside. Maybe that was my fault for adding maraschino cherries to make up for the fact that I only had 1/2 c of the dried ones. The kirsch cream was delicious though!
