There are lots of black bean soups on Zaar, but none as simple as this. This recipe comes from a very old Rival cookbook. Prep time does not include time for soaking the beans.
- 1 lb dried black beans, soaked overnight
- 3 cups water
- 1⁄4 lb bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- Combine all of the ingredients in a crock pot.
- Cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours.
