This is a MUST burger in our house. I have only grilled them so far, but this winter I'm sure they will be just as good inside. The sauce is a nice touch with the red onion lettuce and tomato. When friends hear that I am cooking them...they invite themselves over!

I made this burger for the family and it was DELICIOUS!!! So yummy and flavorful. I would make a double recipe of the sauce to use on sandwiches or left overs next time. We were planning to go out to eat at a fancy burger joint and just couldn't see spending $8 on one burger (that didn't even include fries). We stayed home and googled black and blue burgers. We were very happy we decided to just grill our own. We saved money and had left-overs for lunch! :) Great recipe!

If your recipes keep rendering me speechless, I just won't be any fun. A real keeper.

Great burger! I was craving this after having one at a restaurant so I got on Zaar and found this recipe. I used 96% lean ground beef, reduced-fat bleu cheese crumbles and grilled them on the George. My husband even "tweeted" how awesome I was after he tasted them, haha. I did not add the bleu cheese to the dressing, as I thought it might be too much.

Made these on a family boat trip when we wanted something everyone would enjoy and that we could put together with little effort. The cheese in the middle tastes great and adds extra flavor to the burger. Even though my boyfriend complained about how it would have been easier to make regular cheeseburgers, he sure was pleased with the results and took back the earlier moans and groans.

Made this as written except used Blackening Seasoning Mix Paul Prudhomme as the blackening seasoning. These are very flavorful and the dressing is great!! Thanks for posting!

We really enjoyed these burgers! The blackened mixture is just perfect! The blue cheese inside is such a great addition. I didn't make the dressing, since I had a bottle of blue cheese dressing that I spread on my buns! Thanks for the keeper, I will be making this again and using your blackened seasoning for other meats/burgers too!! :)

Like everyone one said, this one is a real winner. I didn't have the expensive chhese, but the crumbled did well. My hubby overgrilled them and they were still yummy. Can't wait to try them cooked correctly.

We are blue cheese lovers and enjoyed these burgers. I didn't make the dressing this time but will the next. The charcoal grill is a must for the added flavor.

Ohmigosh, these burgers are awesome! I made these for DS and myself since DH doesn't care for blue cheese. I melted swiss cheese on them in addition to the blue cheese. Added onion and freshly sliced tomato from the garden and was just in heaven. The spice mix is great, really right on the mark. These are some cheesy burgers! Will definitely make these again, Sue...thanks for posting!

This is a Burgy Burger - It says the dressing is optional but make it , it's the true topper for this burger- I did not have any onion powder left so I added crispy onions that I had made earlier. I added 2 tsp for 1 burger, I also added 1/2 tsp chili flakes to the dressing. I keep saying nothing can beat the last buther I made and then alongs come the Black & Blue Burger - Thanks Sue for a great burger

Flavor FULL is right. The 3 oz of blue cheese in the dressing almost sent this burger over the top for me but Dh gobbled it up. You may want to cut back on the blue cheese in the dressing a bit unless you're a die-hard fan. We both found the burgers perfect as is. Sue L, you're black and blue combination is truly inspired.
