Easy substitute for Bisquick - need to store it in the refrigerator - but this makes only 1 cup, so you don't have lots left over to store.

  1. Mix dry ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender.
  3. Makes 1 cup Bisquick equivalent.

I love this recipe. I hate buying Bisquick, because even stored in the fridge it eventually gets a bit rancid before I can use it. AND it is expensive!!! This way I can make it when I need it. I made this even easier by just throwing everything in the food processor and whirring it a few seconds. Made for Spring 2011 PAC game.

I made this to use half of it in an 'impossible pie cheesecake' we like. Great idea, thank you!!! This recipe is such a good way for that lsmall amount of needed bisquick. I made it with unbleached flour, added 3 T. dry milk powder to the dry ingredients. Cold butter in place of the shortening.

Bisquick isn't something that I ever buy but I wanted to try a recipe asking for 1 cup. This was perfect, exactly what I needed with no leftover. The recipe came out fine. :D
