Wonderful and quick! No mini chips for me so I used a like amount of chopped raisins, lemon zest and orange extract (out of lemon). The kiddos were clamoring for these as they came out of the oven. Loved them once they were cool. Hubby too. Mine also needed longer in the oven: a total of 14 or 15 minutes. Might not be a traditional scone but a tasty treat just the same. Now I'm in the mood for tea!

I needed a quick and easy recipe for my niece's international fair (she represented Great Britain); having never made a scone, and needing to make a large batch, I was so grateful coming across this recipe. I followed every ingredient, and I did use the extra tbsps of cream for the dough and they came out amazing. I found that the first batch were becoming too brown after 6 min. (I rotated the scones during baking); After rotating, I changed the position of the rack to the top of the oven, and put them there for another 8 min. (checking after 6) and they browned perfectly on top w/out burning the bottom. I made 96 of these, and they are being eaten at the fair as I type!

I ended up with a box of Bisquick and found this recipe when searching for something to do with it:)
These turned out really good. Not quite the traditional scone but really fast and easy to put together. Didn't need a mixer just a big spoon to mix. To me it seemed like a happy medium between a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate chip muffin but with out the several batches or the fuss:)
The only change I made was using regular chips, brown sugar and I found a half used package of french vanilla pudding mix so I tossed in a couple of teaspoons into the Bisquick.
Very pleased with results and will definitely make this again. If I don't have Bisquick on hand I can just use one of the great Bisquick substitute recipes posted here at 'zaar.
Thanks!
