  1. I subbed 1/2 c canola oil for the 1 c shortening and it worked out perfectly when used in #3357, Impossible Taco Pie. Thank you!

  2. I've been using this recipe since I joined 'Zaar. I've been trying to catch up on my reviewing lately, so here goes: I will say this bake mix is awesome because it is made with ingredients most bakers have in their pantry right this minute. Fresh, easy and effective, that's what I want in a bake mix. To make scones: 2 cups bake mix, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/2-1 cup dried fruit (dates, apricots, raisins, cranberries, etc.) and/or lemon zest/orange zest/lime zest or 1/2 cup finely diced fresh fruit (apple, pear, apricot, peach), add 50 grams melted butter and then enough cream, yogurt, sour cream, or milk to moisten. scoop onto parchment paper and bake about 20 minutes at 180. That is for Jennifer and Naoma! :-)

  3. I gave this 5 stars. This recipe is great and works just as good as Bisquick. I didn't have any on hand when making biscuits and I used this and it worked like a charm. I got my copy of this recipe from Thirfty Fun. My copy of the recipe is slightly different. It calls for 8 cups flour, 1/2 cup baking powder, 3 teaspoons salt, 8 teaspoons sugar (opt). The rest of the ingredients is the same. The directions are about the same. The recipe says store in the pantry in a well sealed container and it keeps upto 3 months or longer in the refrigerator. Thanks for posting! Christine (internetnut)

  4. This was so easy to put together Di, I always have these ingredients at hand. Now I can get down to trying all the recipes here that call for Bisquick. I just made BisQuickie Cinnamon Rolls (#31607) and they were unbelievable.
