These are an awesome Jewish cookie given to my by a friend named Shelagh. Best I can describe as is sort of a biscotti cookie - firm but not as hard as traditional biscotti.

Directions

  1. Cobine all liquids, mix well. Add sugar, nuts and flour last (sift flour, baking power and salt together). Knead a few times.
  2. Form long strips of dough by rolling and patting into a strip about 3" wide. I usually make 2 - 3 strips as they are easier to form and work with.
  3. Mix the 1/2 c sugar and cinammon together. sprinkle on the strips.
  4. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 15-30 minutes. Remove from oven; cut the strips into slices about 1" wide, either straight across or on the diagonal. Turn the cookies on their sides, bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool slightly, remove from trays.
