Turkish cuisine at its best! Little zucchini-fritters, best served hot with some garlic-yoghurt. Can be eaten as appetizer or a meal itself, with a big mixed salad. Originally from a German internet site, thanks to Birtanem, a great cook!

Directions

  1. Grate zucchini and mix with about 1 tablespoon salt. Let stand for about 30 minutes, then rinse and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  2. Mix together with the other ingredients. Adding some crumbled feta tastes also very good!
  3. Heat the oil and drop one tablespoon of the mix at a time in the oil, pressing a little with a fork to flatten the patties.
  4. Drain well on kitchen paper.

These were so yummy! At first I was a bit afraid they wouldnt cook through because my zucchini was so watery but with a little more flour they were perfect. I served alongside some broccoli and with a garlic yoghurt sauce. teşekkür ederim for posting this lovely recipe!

Lovely! Served four, generously. We served it with garlic yoghurt (made by mixing chopped garlic, salt and pepper in natural yoghurt and leaving the mixture in the fridge for a few hours), as suggested in the introduction, and lemon wedges. Although we very seldom fry anything, this is definitely one we will be making again. Reviewed for Pick A Chef, Spring 2007.

Loved it... I went overboard buying zucchini lately and wanted some different recipes to use it up with.I used the food processor to make the grating step go faster and 2 garlic cloces as we love garlic. I served it with a simple yogurt/garlic sauce and we ate it tapas style for dinner and enjoyed it very much. The taste is good and these are very filling too.
