I made many revisions on this recipe, and it was still delicious! I cut the recipe in half and used Ezekial 4:9 sprouted grain penne pasta, raw cheddar cheese (just cheddar - no parmesan) and I only had 1c. cream, so I used water for the other 1c. of milk. Plus, I added about 1/2 bag of frozen peas to the mix and topped with some more shredded cheese. It was delicious! And all my kids ate it up too!

I cut the recipe in half since there were only 2 of us eating this, and I still had some leftovers...looking forward to it for lunch tomorrow :) I think this really was the most flavorful mac & cheese I've ever had, like the description said it was...I really liked it. It seemed a little bit dry though, and I prefer mine a little more creamy. I definitely enjoyed this recipe though. Loved the addition of pepper and the ground mustard. Thanks so much for posting :) Made for Phase II of Theirs, Yours, & Mine Photo Tag.

Very nice mac n cheese recipe which was enjoyed by DS and myself for lunch!! I made this for 6 servings although omitted the bread crumbs as we don't care for them on our mac n cheese in my family. This is very similar to the way I make our mac n cheese except for the dry mustard, parmesan and bread crumbs. We loved the addition of the dry mustard and parmesan cheese but next time would maybe cut back some on the salt and I love salty. I used freshly grated parmesan and cheddar so maybe the parmesan was extra salty??? Thanks 2Bleu for sharing a slight twist to my normal recipe!!!

Very nice macaroni and cheese that we enjoyed, but I think next time I will leave off the crumb topping and just let the macaroni brown ever so lightly on top!

Wonderful, wonderful! The farm was just begging for some comfort today. I had a good box of unopened elbows sitting there in the cupboard and this seems like the only choice to make....this recipe looked like it would beat my mac/cheese anytime, because the ingredients look divine. I did not change one thing about this recipe. Followed it exactly, and I wouldn't change anything about it. Just to *tried and true* to change. Try this! You will never regret it, especially on a day when comfort is first and foremost. Thanks, 2Bleu!

Top notch mac&cheese. If you've never had homemade mac&cheese - you must try it! Dh didn't grow up on homemade but he's coming around. I used odds and ends of cheese - some sharp cheddar, colby/jack, a bit of swiss and munster. Very good!

Great Macaroni and Cheese recipe! Creamy, cheesy and stick to the roof of your mouth good! The only thing I didn't do was put the crumbs on top, as we like it better without. Thanks!

This tasted just as good as I thought it would. I cut the recipe in half but still used the 8 oz of cheddar. We love a cheesey mac and cheese. I had a little trouble getting my bread crumbs to brown but I just put the oven on broil for about 3 min. and that did the trick. Plus, it gave it a nice crust on top and around the edges. Thanks so much for sharing. Made for PRMR.

I love homemade mac and cheese. It is the ultimate comfort food, and this was absolutely wonderful. I never would have thought to add mustard, but it added a really nice flavor. The only thing I changed at all was to use baby parmesan.

great mac and cheese, I used an aged white cheddar and also added in a small chopped onion and a tablespoon of fresh minced garlic to the roux, this is a rich cheesy dish that has a wonderful flavor, thanks for sharing Bird!

Great mac and cheese recipe! I did find the white cheddar and grated it myself. The recipe was very easy to throw together and the cooking time is quick. It's a nice comforting recipe with wonderful flavor. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 (and it was close) is because I found it a little salty tasting. This may be due to the type or brand of cheeses I used. I'm going to experiment with other brands of cheese (and have fun while trying!). Thanks, 2Bleu, for another yummy recipe. :)

This was a very tasty mac-n-cheese recipe. Love the flavor combinations along w/the different choices of cheeses. The only thing I didn't add was the white cheddar cheese and used standard cheddar instead of. Thanks for sharing~

This is a really great macaroni and cheese recipe. Not a thing I would change about it. The cheese sauce ends up so creamy, its wonderful. I ended up mixing probably 3/4 of a 1 lb box of macaroni in with the sauce. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was excellent! I made 2 servings of this for lunch today. Also I used skim milk and low fat cheeses (and a little less of the cheeses) and whole wheat pasta. The only issue I had (which was my fault) was the sauce was a bit thin since there was no heavy cream to help make it a bit thicker. So I just added some cornstarch mixed with some water to thicken it a bit. Also the cheese did not melt quite as nicely as full fat cheese would have. Overall a great recipe I plan on making much more often that even tasts great when made a tad more healthy.

This was fantastic! I made it exactly as written, and after tasting it I added a little more black pepper and some cayenne pepper out of personal preference and it was PERFECT! I will definitely be making this again!
