Cooking time is actually setting time for the gelatin.
- 1 (15 ounce) canpitted dark sweet cherries in juice
- 1 (3 ounce) package cherry gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup walnuts
- Drain the can of cherries and reserve the juice. Dissolve gelatin in the boiling water. Combine reserved cherry juice, lemon juice and enough cold water to equal one cup and add to gelatin. Refrigerate until slightly set. Add cherries and walnuts and pour into a 4 cup mold. Chill until firm.
