Different people look for different things in a spaghetti sauce. In fact, your spaghetti sauce says alot about you as a person. This is undoubtedly the best spaghetti sauce I have ever had! It is full-bodied but balanced. It is meaty yet the meat does not overwhelm the flavor. With a sprinkle of parmesan, a french baguette and a red wine on the side this sauce creates the perfect evening! I'm love this chef!!

Excellent sauce Bev! I usually make my own recipe that I have been making for years so I thought I would try something different and we all enjoyed this very much!! Sure made alot of sauce I was able to feed 5 of us and still had plenty left over. I froze the rest for another day. I didn't add mushrooms but put plenty of parmesan cheese on. Delicious, thanks for sharing.

Bev, your spaghetti sauce is out of this world delicious!!! This was THE BEST I have ever had. I was already looking forward to having the leftovers tonight as I was eating it last night!! I followed the recipe to a "T" except for the bay leaves, only because I didn't have any on hand. Thank you, thank you for posting this!!!

I made this recipe this weekend at my son's request for italian food. I did add a few more cloves of garlic but that was the only change. Bev, this was great. Just spicy enough. DH said it was the best Spaghetti I have ever made. Served this with a green salad and homemade bread sticks. Excellent dinner. Thanks Bev!

I absolutely LOVED this spaghetti sauce. I don't usually have the time to make sauce from scratch, but this is one recipe I will definitely allow time for - a couple time a month. My husband and 4 1/2 yr old enjoyed it as well. What yummy confort food! Thanks a lot for sharing your sauce with us, Bev. It's become a part of our Sunday menu.

Great sauce. Everyone really enjoyed the meal. This was the first time I have cooked my own spaghetti sauce so thanks for helping me look good.

Sign in or create an accountBev, your recipe for this spagetti sauce is similar to my own. I usually add just a bit of sugar to offset the acidity of the tomatoes. A pinch of msg, a portion of chopped green pepper, and a splash of gallo's sweet vermouth or wonderful reunite lambrusco wine (lambrusco is the perfect wine to serve with a spaghetti meal)...voila...spaghetti sauce a'la ruth. I can see why you are getting rave reviews. My family wants me to start an italian restaurant! Not at my age (54), i'll continue to serve it to my family, thank you. I look forward to checking out your other recipes.

Absolutely STELLAR! I didn't have the tomato paste, but had plenty of home-canned sauce and stewed tomatoes. I just reduced the juice from the stewed tomatoes, and simmered a little longer to thicken up. I can NOT say how amazing this sauce is!

As a beginning cook examining the recipe, it looks like a 5-star! As a pre-diabetic, I recommend making 2 substitution to the recipe as is: replace the salt with equal amounts of "No Salt," and replace the ground beef with equal amounts of 100% ground turkey breast.

This sauce should come with a warning to leave the house as it simmers! This is the best combination of spices I've ever had in a spaghetti sauce. I hope there is some left for my family: )

This is very delicious spaghetti sauce! I made it just as stated and it turned out perfectly. My family enjoyed it immensely. I had plenty left over so I am freezing it to use at a later date for lasagna or stuffed shells. Thanks for sharing another wonderful recipe, Bev.

This is an excellent recipe for spaghetti sauce. You can really tell a difference between jar sauce and this sauce. I will use this as my go to recipe for sauce in the future! Thanks!

This is delicious! My picky eaters love this and ask for 2nd and 3rds. It is a nice, even blend of all flavors without anything overwhelming. I only omitted the mushrooms, since I am not a fan of those. I used this sauce for spagetti as well as lasagna. I also put this sauce on a pita and topped with cheese, put it in the toaster oven, and voila, we had mini pizzas! This sauce did not last long in our house! This is now our favorite spagetti sauce recipe!! Thanks for posting.

Finally found the spaghetti sauce recipe I have been looking for. I browned & drained the beef and then put all in a crockpot (low) & cooked for around 6 hrs. The only changes I made, after tasting, was a sprinkle of sugar to taste & no mushrooms. Thanks so much Bev, my search is over with.

WOW, Bev!! This is a great spaghetti sauce! I couldn't remember if I had rated this yet, lol. I have used your recipe so many times! (with a few additions.) Hubby doesn't like meat in his spaghetti so I omit it when I make for spaghetti nite. I use 5 cloves garlic, ( love garlic )minced, and also 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes for heat and brown sugar. I simmer for about 4-6 hours, very low simmer. I have used your spaghetti sauce recipe to make Baked ziti, ( I do use the ground beef in this ) and this sauce recipe for Kittencal's Famous Italian Melt-In-Mouth Meatballs for meatball subs. I always have leftovers, as its only my hubby and I at home now. I freeze and use when needed. This is the only sauce my hubby wants me to use for saucey Italian meals! Thanks again Bev for another amazing recipe!....carmen
