Meatballs
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 2 slices stale bread
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons oregano
- 1⁄4 cup parmesan cheese

Sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons oregano
- 2 lbs whole tomatoes
- 12 ounces tomato paste
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup mushroom
directions
- Put all sauce ingredients into large pot and cook for 2 hours.
- Mix egg with bread crumbs and mix remaining ingredients with salt and pepper to taste.
- Form into balls and add to sauce.
- Cook one more hour.
- Serve over spaghetti.
