The most moist, delicious pumpkin bread. I have been making this since junior high when making goodies for teachers. So delicious!

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Add shortning, eggs,water and vanilla.
  3. Stir in pumpkin.
  4. Pour into loaf pans that have been greased and floured.
  5. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
  6. Makes 3 loaves.

I made this for Thanksgiving to give to family and they all loved it and so did I! I have never made pumpkin bread before, and maybe bread only once when I was very young, so I was thrilled how lovely they turned out! Thank you!

This recipe is everything AllieOop claim it is...delicious and very moist. Also very easy to make and it was a beautiful loaf. I did make two large loaves instead of three smaller ones and the cooking time stayed the same.
