      i'm yet to try this recipe but my dad makes one very similar. it's definitely sweetened condensed milk (because its thick and sugary), and the sugar has to be simmered until its melted completely. my father also used golden syrup on top of the ingredients listed here. you can also add a small portion of water once the ingredients are thoroughly combined and sugar melted and place back on low heat to thicken up again

      Are the ingredients listed correct or not? I was confused as at least three people assumed that the condensed milk should be evaporated milk instead? Which is it? I used evaporated since I did not think condensed would work. The flavor was just ok, but the consistency was all wrong...too runny and not thick like I hoped it would be. Maybe I will try again with condensed milk?

      YUMMMMM!!! I really liked this chocolate sauce! The only alteration I made was to use heavy cream instead of evaporated milk (or condensed? I think that must be a typo), and boy am I glad I did! This was super easy to make and delicious! I served it over pound cake and fresh raspberries with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. To die for!

      You want to use condensed milk for this recipe....I used evaporated milk (well a recipe for it, Evaporated Milk #39562)and it turned out WONDERFUL!!! I loved this along with your CREAMY Caramel Sauce #40766, served over vanilla ice cream and it was sooooo good. Thanks so much for these wonderful recipes! We loved them, and will be making both again and again instead of buying store brands. Yum!! THanks

      This recipe did not work for me at all. The sugar never disolved and so the resulting sauce was very grainy and inedible. I'm wondering if I used the wrong ingredient for the 8oz. of condensed milk. I used 8 oz. of sweetened condensed milk. Sweetened condensed milk is very, very thick and so maybe that is why the sugar never disolved. I'm wondering if the ingredient should have been 8 oz. of EVAPORATED milk. That would make more sense in this recipe since it calls for 2 cups of sugar so you really don't need the extra sugar that is in sweetened condensed milk. Evaporated milk is much thinner and so I think the sugar would disolved.

      Delcious chocolate sauce. Thick and chocolatey. YUMMMMM... I dont know what on earth we are going to do with so much of this yummy gooey stuff *laugh* Thanks! We made this to put on my birthday sundaes b/c today was my birthday!! :D
