Best Cole Slaw Dressing ( Also Great for Potato Salad)

My mother-in-law introduced me to this recipe 40 years ago. She was raised in a mennonite community in Ontario Canada, although not a mennonite herself. Can use either fresh cabbage shredded or, bagged shredded cabbage (at least 2 bags)


  1. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Allow sugar and salt to dissolve (about 10 minutes)
  3. Toss with cabbage.
  4. Refrigerate.
  5. Serve.

Waaaay too much vinegar. This was in no way appetizing. Had to throw it out. It had too sour of a taste. I like my slaw creamy so thought the sour cream was an interesting twist. Glad I made it the night before I served it to my company. I would have been mortified to serve this. I'll keep hunting.
