This recipe is from "Good Eats" with Alton Brown. It does make a very moist and tasty turkey. To save a few dollars you can sub water for the veggie broth and it will work just as well.
I love Alton's show, and used this recipe (alas, sans fresh thyme) last year for my first Thanksgiving cooking adventure. It came out fabulous! Surprisingly simple, and now I'm not intimidated by dealing with that huge turkey!
