Berry Smoothie

"This is from Betty C. This is very thick and delicious like a milkshake but w/o the ice cream. (2/8/08 removed ice cubes from recipe.)"

  1. The family liked this, I liked it because it wasn't loaded with sugar and I knew what went in it. It did turn out like a sorbet but didn't stop us from eating it. Thank you!

  2. Love the berries in this! My blender had a hard time blending it too, I had to add a lot of milk. I used honey instead of sugar and the texture of this was more like a sorbet than a smoothie, but it was tasty and more filling than my usualy smoothie! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I tried this twice; the first time, I had to add a whole lot of liquid, because my blender just would not blend it! The second time, I used a mini food processor. It worked a bit better, but I still had huge chunks of strawberry that I needed to mash with a fork. If you want to drink this, I think you'd have to let the berries defrost first. I ate it with a spoon. I halved the recipe and used half a cup each of almond milk, strawberries and raspberries, and a packet of Truvia. Thanks for posting. Made for the 8th Annual Photo Swap.

  4. Lovely slightly sweet, fruity, creamy, filling! I used a mix of rice and almond milk and halved the recipe. Thanks! Made for Zaar Stars!

  5. Great smoothie! I used cherries instead of raspberries and it tasted excellent, just the right amount of sugar in the recipe. I added just a bit of crushed ice to give it a nice texture. Thanks for the great recipe, I will be using this again!

  3. Very good and perfectly sweetened! I also liked that this was nice and thick but not too thick. I did run short on my berries so perhaps my mixture was slightly thinner than it was supposed to be. I made this as a treat for my daughter and I and she just kept asking for more! Sometimes I dont alway's want to add ice cream to my smoothies and I like that this recipe uses milk instead. Thank's for sharing. :)

  4. Now that's a GREAT smoothie, especially for those of us who like 'em thick! I don't even mind having to use a spoon! This was a nice change for me, also, 'cause I usually use fruit juice instead of milk! Thanks for sharing! [Tagged, made & reviewed for 1-2-3 Hit Wonders tag game]
