Berry Iced Tea

Courtesy of Homemakers Magazine, this is a berry infused iced tea blend, perfect for summer entertaining. Cook time is cooling time.

• Prep Time: 10 mins
• Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

Serves: 6

Yield: 6.0 cups

• 1 ½ cups berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, black currants)
• ¾ cup water
• 1⁄3; cup sugar
• 6 cups tea , brewed (hot)

Directions:

1. Simmer berries with 3/4 cup water and sugar until berries break apart.
2. Add hot tea; steep until cool. Strain through a cheesecloth-lined sieve, pressing only lightly on the solids to keep the liquid clear.
3. Serve in a tall glass with ice cubes.

Thanks for posting Katzen! 5 stars. This is a really great tea. Super thirst quenching. It is slightly sweet but not sugary if that makes sense. Beautiful color. Easy to make and the fresh fruit gives it a pop other teas made with syrup don't have. Really nice. Enjoy! ChefDLH

Really tasty and refreshing! I used red currants and thought the amount of sugar was perfect to take the slight bitterness out of the tea without making it too sweet.

Yummy! I used splenda and strawberries and blackberries. I did not strain, b/c im lazy....but it was still yummy! I just used a slotted spoon and pulled out the big pieces of the fruit. I also used tazo black tea. This is worth making!!!
