What a truly lovely cake. I made it for a bridge party and drizzled lines of dark and white chocolate over the top plus served it with Chantilly Cream on the side for those not worrying about dieting (phooey, phooey).
Very rich, so a thin slice per person! Used beetroots from the allotment. Well worth the effort. Please note: the recipe requires 2 tabsp honey. This is mentioned in the method but not in the ingredients. Found the original recipe on the channel 4 website.
This was a huge winner at my dinner party!! my lady friends were impressed with the "healthier" indulgence and though I chose to serve it cooled and un-iced with clotted cream it was none-the-less delicious. Does require a bit of attention and not a last minute recipe to attempt :)
