This is by far the best I've had and the easiest made!!! Ihave tried the box kinds from various venders but this def topped the cake. If you dont like the butter tast you can even half the 1/4 cup!!!
This was SO EASY and good. I made a seasonal twist (FALL) used Jack Pumpkin Ale and Brown sugar instead of white. Used only 1/4 cup butter, I would cut down even less butter next time, no need for the extra fat. Awsome and easy--everyone loved it, and we all overindulged!
We had to stop ourselves from eating too much! The recipe is similar to one I had lost a few years back. I'm a big fan of kneaded breads, but I just didn't plan far enough ahead the other night. I found your recipe, and it was yum!!! Sifting flour did make a big difference. I didn't do that in the past, and the bread was much coarser. I used a cheap blonde beer, Miller Lite, and it was good. I've used dark beer in the past and have enjoyed that as well for a more intense flavor. My only criticism is I'd use less butter, maybe 1/4 cup... it flowed over loaf pan and just wasn't necessary. Between the sugar, mild beer and unsalted butter our bread was sweet. Out toddlers dubbed it "cake" and gobbled it up. Thanks for sharing!
I love this recipe. I added 1/2 pkg lipton onion soup to the mix, plus a handfull of shredded cheddar, and topped with the remainder of the soup as suggested. I'll definitely make this again. I suggest you place a pan under it because it ran over in the oven. Perhaps it was because I added ingredients. Next time I will use a bigger pan. Thanks for a great recipe.
This is best beer bread I have made from scratch. I whisked the dry ingredients before adding the beer, turned out wonderful. Great tasting and easy to make.
Loved this recipe! So easy and it is has ingredients that I always have in the house. I did use a spoon to sift the flour as I filed the measuring cup since I do not have a sifter. It turned out beautifully, very similar to Tastfully Simple's Beer Bread, which is very expensive to buy. Thanks for a great alternative!
This was very good! Was so close to Tastefully simple brand that I will never buy it again! Next time I think I will try a different beer and possibly use just a bit more sugar. The beer I used was a Corona.
So EASY!! And SOOO Tasty! Everyone I make it for just loves it and wants the recipe! LOVE IT! Well done!
Since what everyone REALLY likes is the crusty part at the top, I put a heaping soup spoon full of the batter into greased muffin cups and top with a soup spoons worth of melted butter. Makes a great recipe even better.
Fantastic bread. I added about 1/2 Tblsp fresh rosemary and rehidrated dried tomatoes (MW in 1Tblsp water for 2 min). I used garlic butter to top it and it does make a difference!!! Thank you for this great recipe. It is going to be my Christmas present this year for all my friends.
