Beer Batter for Deep Frying Anything

My husband made this up after we couldn't find a good enough one! This is delicious as a batter for anything from onions to fish.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 14 cups flour
  • 1 (12 ounce) can beer (best is old skunky beer- especially Miller Lite!)
  • 2 eggs
  • 13 cup milk (or more as needed for thickness)
  • 1 dash salt

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together, except for milk, with hand mixer.
  2. Slowly add milk as needed.

The batter itself was ok, although in my opinion it was way too thin. I ended up using 2 1/4 cups flour, just so I could put a little milk in, too. Next time I will put some more spices in (besides a dash salt) for more flavor. But this is a good base recipe, with this you can tinker and create your own "secret" homestyle frying batter.
