I never made a ham but I have this recipe for my husband who loves ham. Maybe you do too?
- 10 lbs ham, precooked
- clove, to taste
- bay leaf, to taste
- 1⁄2 cup dry mustard
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 quart beer
- Score ham; stud top with cloves and bay leaves.
- Make smooth paste of mustard, sugar and water; add additional water if necessary to produce prepared mustard consistency.
- Spread over entire surface of ham in baking pan; pour in beer.
- Bake, covered, in 400 degree oven for 2 hours.
I have almost the same recipe, don't know where I got it. Anyway, I made this last year for Christmas and it was SUPERB! So easy to make, but i think my recipe uses just a tad more beer. YUMMY!
