Found this in "The Perfect Mix" and I definitely want to try it this winter! Look for the Beef Vegetable and Barley Soup using this mix posted separately!
- 1⁄2 cup barley
- 1⁄2 cup dried split peas
- 3 beef bouillon cubes, crumbled
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- Combine the ingredients in a small bowl, and store in an airtight container.
I reduced the amount of beef bouillon cubes to 1.5 rather than 3. I though it was just too much salt. It came out excellent. Thank you!!!
