Beef Mushroom Stroganoff

"Very tasty, and fast to prepare too. Buy a piece of meat that is anywhere between one pound and one and a half pounds -- substitute sirloin steak if you wish, particularly for guests. :-)"

  1. This was delicious Lennie, the flavour of the soup added was lovely. I used fresh mushrooms, and served on hot buttered noodles.

  3. This was great. I only had mushroom soup so I added half a chicken broth cube when it was cooking.

  4. This dish was okay. I served it to my hubby and 3 boys and although my hubby and I thought it was missing something (as well as being a bit too "sour creamy"), my boys loved it. My 5 year old even asked me to make it again (a rare occurance!). I did substitute cream of mushroom soup for the cream of chicken soup since I didn't have any canned or fresh mushrooms on hand, and if I make it again I will certainly stick to the recipe.

Tweaks

  1. This is very good, my idea of comfort food on a cold winter night. I substituted fresh mushrooms and cooked them with the onions in step 1, since I dislike canned mushrooms. I served this over hot broad egg noodles. Yummy. Thanks for sharing, Lennie.
