  1. Great soup! I omitted the caraway seeds and used fresh mushrooms, but followed the rest of the recipe (hence the four stars - when I make substitutions, I don't feel I can give five stars because I haven't followed the recipe exactly). Quick, but it tasted like it had simmered for hours. Hubby had three helpings! A great winter treat. I will make again, and will adapt for the crockpot.

I am a homemaker - SAHM. I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I've been married for 23 years. We have seven children, five boys and 2 girls... one of the girls is our DIL. I love cooking! I do spend a lot of time playing around with recipes and coming up with something new. One of my boys went to culinary arts school... oh how I missed him when he moved off to Oklahoma and got married LOL! For a few years I didn't do much cooking at home. Since he is gone I'm loving cooking again!
