      Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium-low heat.

      Whisk in flour and cook 3 minutes.

      Whisk in milk and bring to boil, stirring.

      Reduce heat; simmer until thick enough to coat back of spoon.

      I made is recipe to go with your Recipe for Fennel Gratin. Cut the recipe in half. This worked out very nice. Thank you Evelyn.

      Great for using in Lasagna. Easy, quick and good. i usually add some grated parmesan at the end.
