  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Spray pie plate with cooking spray.
  • Mix flour, 1/2 cup cheese, the baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
  • Stir in milk and egg until blended.
  • Spread over bottom and up side of pie plate.
  • Mix remaining ingredients except 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Spoon into pie plate and sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Bake uncovered about 25 minutes.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

  1. I'm not a big fan of garbanzo beans but everything else in this sounded tasty. I made it with black beans instead and thought it was very good - I especially liked the crust. The only change I would make next time is to saute the veg. a bit as the peppers were a little too crunchy for my taste. Thanks for the recipe!
     
  2. When you copied this recipe from the Betty Crocker "Fantastic Easy Casseroles" book, you left out the can of kidney beans.
