A hearty flavorful rice. Use in Indian cooking. Is not overpowered by spices.
- Bring water, salt, and butter to a boil.
- Stir in rice with a fork.
- Bring back to a boil, then cut heat to simmer, to prevent "boiling over". (Do not be tempted to remove lid -- this can cause gummy rice.).
- Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Made this last night to go with Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken) (Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)). It was very easy and the rice wasn't gummy at all.
