      I baked this in a bread machine & the result was very satisfactory. The bread has that traditional "nutty" flavor & slices well for either sandwiches or toast. My photo says it all!

      This bread was very delicious and the texture was perfect. I used whole grain spelt and the crust was light and flaky while the bread itself was chewy and nutty without being too heavy. Since I have not had a lot of luck making spelt bread with the bread machine I chose to make it in the oven. I will definitely make this again.

      I'm sorry to say that I did not have as much success with this recipe as I had hoped. It was my first time making I spelt bread (I have used spelt successfully in many other baked goods), so I wanted to use a recipe specifically for spelt. This turned out alright. The flavor was good, but the overall product was too dry. Next time I think I will try the bread recipe I've used in the past (calling for all purpose flour) and try subbing in the spelt flour and reducing the liquid by 25%.

      This is a great recipe. Makes a fairly light loaf, though a tad bit dry. That could just be my inexperience with spelt though. I did have a bit of trouble with the initial rise. It took way longer to double than 30 min. All in all, very good recipe.
