- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup honey
- 1⁄2 cup canola oil
- 1⁄2 cup hot water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 5 cups quick-cooking oats or 5 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1⁄2 cup flax seed
- 1 cup sliced almonds
directions
- Mix together first 7 ingredients (sugar through cinnamon).
- Pour over oats; mix.
- Allow to soak while adding seeds, nuts, dried fruit, etc.
- Mix together and bake in jelly roll pan at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
