Tastes just like Cracker Barrels
The flavor of this dish was great. Our family enjoyed it a lot. We thought it was a tad on the greasy side, though, so I will cut back on the butter next time I make it. I also used sharp cheddar instead of colby (that's what I had on hand). Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Not as flavorful with the canned chicken soups I'm afraid. Chef# 1132015 apparently used to work there but has no recipe up for this dish.
If you follow this recipe, you will have duplicated Cracker Barrel's version to the hilt.

Best Tip: Use only freshly grated Colby Cheese. No other cheese can be subsituted! PERIOD!
Same with the Campbell's soup.

Better Tip: The combination of the Colby cheese with Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup is the KEY to duplicating Cracker Barrel's dish.
this recipe is correct except that they use cheddar cheese ( I used to work there and made this daily ). also, the hash browns don't have to be thawed. when they make them the hash browns are still frozen. I have also made it at home using a variety of cheeses and it is still great.
