We really enjoyed these sandwiches! Very similar to the Manwich flavor (as mentioned) but with a bit more tang. Loved this served with cole slaw and fries. Made for an easy weeknight dinner. Thanks for sharing. Made for the Fall 2008 PAC.

Unlike ClutterCollecter I have never had a Manwhich but sloppy joes - yes! Find they make for a quick and easy lunch or light supper... and make for memories! Made as posted - has a good combination of ingredients. Will make again using a touch less vinegar next time around - and there will be a next time! Thank you for sharing.

This one's very much like the Manwich mixture I've bought in the supermarket...The sauce really didn't get very thick, but perhaps another TBSP of the cornstarch would do it...UPDATE...I re-tested the recipe, after I found out the ideal way cornstarch should have been added...at step#2 it should be dump remaining ingredients EXCEPT the water and cornstarch...then in step#3 mix together the cornstarch and the water until completely dissolved; add to the mixture in the saucepan and cook stirring occasionally til bubbly...Evidently cornstarch should always be dissolved in a cool liquid before adding to a hot/warm mixture or it won't thicken the warm mixture properly...who knew? I'm saving this recipe (with my adjustments) for repeat use...in the end, a nice copycat of Manwich
