Barbecue Sauce

"With that Down Home barbecue flavor!"

 

• Ready In: 25mins
• Ingredients: 10
• Serves: 4-6

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup oil
• 3⁄4 cup chopped onion
• 3⁄4 cup ketchup
• 3⁄4 cup water
• 1⁄3 cup lemon juice
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 tablespoons mustard
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper

directions

1. Saute onion in oil.
2. Add remaining ingredients.
3. Simmer for 15 minutes.

This was just ok for us. I felt there was way too much oil in it and the sauce didn't have the depth I expected. Sorry!

I was out of sauce so, I made this recipe. Outstanding flavor! I too went with half soy & half worcestshire sauce and 1 tsp. mustard. I will NEVER buy bottled sauce again!

I made this tonight to put on BBQ chicken pizza. It was sooo easy and quick to make! The mustard did taste a little strong (and I only used 1 teaspoon..) but overall the recipe can't be beat for convenience!

A very good tasting sauce with easy to follow directions. We loved the barbecue sauce. My DW thought it was a bottled sauce! For our own tastes I used the Worcestershire sauce half and half with soy sauce. for the total measurment. A keeper recipe we will definitly make, again. Thank you for posting. jim
