This BBQ rub is really flavorful and very simple to make. I triple this recipe and store it in an airtight container. It's also great on beef or pork.
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Combine all ingredients and store in airtight container.
For all the 5-star reviews this rub got, I was expecting it to be outstanding, but it was just okay. It made enough rub to cover the whole chicken, and smelled absolutely delicious while cooking, but it just didn't have enough salt in it, and I don't think the brown sugar in it complimented the chicken very well. It was definitely the best smelling chicken I've ever cooked though! :) Thanks!
Outstanding! Used it on our beer can chicken and it made a delicious, cruncy crust. Will definately make again and use on other items. Thanks.
Excellent Rub.....Made Beer Can Chicken on the BBQ and it turned out perfect....Thanx :)
