Barbecue Meatballs and Rice

"So yummy, these are addicting. A family tried and true favorite. I make a ton of these meatballs and freeze them. I serve these with rice. My family gobbles this up and I bet yours will too."

  • Mix the beef, milk, oats, pepper, garlic powder, egg, chopped onion, salt and chili powder together.
  • Form into 1 inch balls. (I use my cookie scoop-like a small ice cream scoop).
  • Place in 9 x 13 pan.
  • Mix the ketchup, tomato sauce,brown sugar and liquid smoke together.
  • Pour over meatballs.
  • Cover pan with foil.
  • Cook for 45 minutes in a 350 oven.
  • Take the foil off and cook 15 minutes longer.
  • Serve with rice.

  1. This was quite the surprise recipe! We loved it! I did use sugar twin brown sugar as I live with a diebetic but I don't think it hurt the taste at all...Made for PAC Fall 09.

  3. YUMMY! I made them for a big party(they call me the meatball queen) They were the hit of the potluck! Excellent recipe hobbgal!! Its the best meatball recipe I have ever tried!
