"I have been making this recipe for years and the whole family loves it. I must admit that I don't usually like traditional barbecue flavors, but this one is smoky and full of flavor! The key is the liquid smoke (a small bottle will last forever!)"

Sauce
473.18 ml ketchup
354.88 ml brown sugar
118.29 ml finely chopped onion
2.46 ml garlic powder
1.23 ml liquid smoke
Meatballs
680.38 g lean ground beef
1 egg
4.92 ml chili powder
118.29 ml finely chopped onion
9.85 ml Worcestershire sauce
0.61 ml white pepper
118.29 ml breadcrumbs
8 submarine buns
118.29 ml shredded 2% mexican cheese blend (kraft)

directions

Combine meatball ingredients and then form into small 1-inch meatballs. Place on baking sheet covered with wax paper and bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until done.
In the meantime, combine the sauce ingredients in large pot and heat over medium-low heat. Add meatballs to sauce once they come out of the oven. Continue to cook on low for 30 minutes.
Put four meatballs inside each sub bun and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
