This is very similar to another recipe Ive rated on here, still a five star one at that. These are delicious! Love the chewy texture and the mix of chocolate chips and oats.

I made a batch of these over the weekend and they practically "flew" out of the cookie jar. In a hurry, I forgot to check that I had enough of all the ingredients--I didn't! So I ended up using 1 cup of muesli for the second cup of oatmeal. It worked just fine -- perhaps added a bit more fiber! Thanks for posting this recipe!

I love oatmeal cookies but had never tried them with chocolate chips. These were so yummy and very easy. I think I like these better than those with raisins in them. Soft and chewy, just the way we like them. Thanks :)

These cookies are very delicious. Thanks, bert, for posting this recipe. My family and I really have enjoyed them. I usually put raisins in my oatmeal cookies but the chocolate chips were a great idea. Nice chewy texture but slightly crisp too after they cooled. They won't last long.

Thank you bert. My family and I loved these cookies. The butter and brown sugar flavors are distinctive to me and what make these so good. I like the chocolate chips too. A yummy, made from scratch treat. Thanks again.

I made these cookies this weekend and my family went wild for them. They were great and a good way to get the kids to eat oatmeal without knowing it. The cookies were great, these are one of my favorites.

This is now my families favorite cookie. I used a combination of chocolate and peanut butter chips, plus a cup of coconut. Yummmy!

Excellent recipe. I cooked them slightly longer-about 12 minutes as my cookies were quite big. My boys like man size cookies so I ended up with 5 1/2 dozen. They were still nice and golden, chewy on the inside and nice and crisp on the outside. I love the flavour of the brown sugar. Another great recipe Bert.

I haven't made these in years and I know that we will gorge ourselves as soon as they come out of the oven. Barbara is a first class lady and although mistakes were made i still like her son. Keep bakin' Babs!

This is an excellent recipe! I followed the recipe, minus the chocolate chips, and they turned out perfectly. Not too sweet, nice and chewy on the inside and a little bit of crunch on the edge-just perfect! Thanks for posting this recipe!!

Old Barbara knows how to make a good oatmeal cookie! I followed the recipe exactly as far as ingredients. I used a small scoop and had to bake the cookies nearly 14 minutes to cook. They turned out just like I like them. A little crunchy on the edge and soft in the middle. Thanks for posting this recipe.

Very, very good. I was going to post this recipe and here it is. A great basic cookie. The oatmeal makes the differerence, and rolled oats is the best. I have made it with quick and not quick oats and that doesn't seem to make a difference.

These are great! I followed the recipe just as it is. My DH is eating them as fast as they come out of the oven. I will for sure make these again.

A good cookie! I followed the advice of others and added about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. I made 1/2 batch with chocolate chips, 1/2 with raisins. Both were very good. I didn't grease my cookie sheet, as I didn't want them to spead out too much. They didn't stick, but they were kind of square from taking them off the sheet.

I enjoyed these cookies. I added 1 tsp. of cinnamon as I found the first batch a little bland and thought the cinnamon spiced it up a little. Good consistency and very tasty!

Very tasty! I only had about a cup and a third of old fashioned oats - but they worked out just fine. The cookies were soft, chewy, and crispy all at the same time. Next time I think I'll add some nuts to bump this up to a five!

Very good! Followed the directions exactly, but they turned out a little flat. Of course, my husband still loves them!

These were great! Make sure to cook them for the recommended time, and no longer, if you like your cookies slightly chewy.
